Hillbilly Holler

Phoenix-based set designer and prop builder Michaela Nastasia’s “display haunt” experience Hellbilly Holler is a labor of love full of custom built decorations and mind-warping designs (check out the latest edition, twin brothers Merle & Earl, a “blood puking water feature”). The perfect setup for those looking for a haunted house experience free of actors in hockey masks screaming at you or forcing you to crawl through a window or whatever, this is a fully accessible, touch free, and reasonably family-friendly experience (while still being impressive and intense at points). 13th Floor Phoenix

Part of a nationwide chain of haunted houses, with locations in Chicago, Denver, Houston, and beyond, the Phoenix iteration of 13th Floor features three different experiences to thrill to: Midnight Mania, Daywalker, and Phobia. Midnight Mania pits you and your friends against a masked stalker straight out of a classic slasher movie, while Jaywalker puts a freshly risen vampire on your trail, and bonus labyrinth Phobia is an intensely physical experience, forcing you to push yourself beyond the brink to escape a terrifying maze. AZ Field of Screams

Each year, a cornfield at Tolmachoff Farms in Glendale is turned into one of the most popular Halloween events in the area. Field of Screams is a haunted corn maze that, legend has it, was built atop an abandoned cemetery, where terrifying nightmares are made reality for anyone who dares enter. Sanctum of Horror & The Breach

These twin haunted houses are some of the most intense haunting experiences you’ll find in the area.
