Does Hoppy Beer Make You Happy? Here are Scottsdale’s Must-Try IPAs

We’ve been over it a hundred times, but we literally can’t tell you enough how much we love Scottsdale and all it has to offer. From the weather and the multiple Spring Training facilities to all the restaurants and bars you could ever hope for, you really can’t go wrong.

One of our favorite parts about this place is (you guessed it) the bar scene. There are endless opportunities for drinks in our quaint city. For this reason, we’ve decided to dive deep into the best IPA’s you can find around the Scottsdale area!

So sit back, dream of these hoppy, yet delicious, brews in the area.

Birthday Suit IPA

Goldwater Brewing Co.

Gold Water Brewing

First up on our list is none other than the Birthday Suit IPA from Goldwater Brewing Co. This brew has a light, semi-fruity vibe. With a 7.3% ABV, this tall pour is not messing around. With a description of “Dank, Tropical, Citrusy, Party Time!”, what’s not to love? The Goldwater staff and building are also favorites of #PHXFray, so head on down to the southern edge of Old Town to get your hands on one of these Birthday Suits.

Juice Monkey IPA

Scottsdale Beer Company

City Craft Beers

Next, head to Scottsdale Beer Company for the Juice Monkey IPA. An ABV of over 8% confirms this brew gets right down to business. An American-style IPA, this one is more on the sweet side, with notes of citrus and pine. Showing a copper color, the Juice Monkey doesn’t seem like it has a high alcohol content, so it’s a great choice for a first-time Scottsdale Beer Company beer. Located near Shea Blvd and the AZ 101, the convenience is unbeatable!

Outlaw Mosaic IPA

Two Brothers Brewing

On a list like this, we definitely can’t leave out one of our favorite spots in Scottsdale! This brings us to Two Brothers Brewing located right in the heart of Old Town. This place has a great atmosphere and is where we spend most of our post-volleyball evenings. On their tap list and canned beer list, you can find the Outlaw Mosaic IPA. It’s a new one for Two Brothers, but it’s a good one! At 6.3% ABV, this is a deeper-looking IPA and goes really well with many things on the Two Brothers Menu. Keep an eye out for other rotating beers from the Outlaw IPA series!

Fate Fateful IPA

Fate Brewing Company

AZ Central

To round out our list of awesome IPA’s in the area, head to Fate Brewing Company with locations in both North and South Scottsdale. The Fate Fateful IPA is the hoppy, and very happy, ending to your day in Scottsdale. It packs a punch with several different types of hops and has hints of caramel and several citrus flavors. On their rotating tap list, this one holds a 6.6% ABV and should definitely be on your list of beers to try in the area.

So, grab your ID, friends and growlers and Uber on over to these places that really know how to serve a good IPA. Tell them PHX Fray sent you, and you may just meet one of our bartender friends!
