There’s no shortage of great breweries in Phoenix, from the celebrated, Anheuser-Busch-acquired Four Peaks Brewery to the long list of notable newcomers, locally brewed beers have become a staple of Arizona’s food and beverage scene. There’s no better time for beer than the summer.

 Whether you’re camping up north, hosting a pool party or floating down the Salt River, ditch the domestic beers and try one of these summer-appropriate, locally brewed favorites. 

Orange Blossom Ale 

Huss Brewing Co.

Summer and citrus flavors are a natural match, and this beer is a perfect choice for someone looking for a refreshing beer that’s not too bitter thanks to its subtle vanilla flavor. This light wheat ale has been an Arizona favorite since the mid-2000s for good reason.

Fruit lovers rejoice because this IPA brings notes of peach, guava and tangerine balanced by oats for a full-bodied flavor expertly crafted by one of Arizona’s best-known craft beer destinations, San Tan Brewery.

This award-winning beer is light, crisp and refreshing for the summer without unnecessary sweetness for those that would rather skip the fruity flavors. The easy to drink brew is one of the staples at Pedal Haus which is known for its high quality beers and great atmosphere.

This Four Peaks classic highlights one of Arizona’s lesser known harvests — peaches! The sweet, light flavor stands out amongst its citrus-focused competitors and has become a west coast favorite year-round.

The Phoenix Ale Brewery

This unique brew is a medium-bodied ale with a bright hint of watermelon that makes it refreshing and perfect for summer. It comes from The Phoenix Ale Brewery which as been an Arizona beer mainstay for nearly a decade with other favorites like the Camelback IPA and Biltmore Blonde.

Summer Chamo 

Mother Bunch Brewery 

This aptly named beer is one of Mother Bunch’s many unique brews, featuring notes of Egyptian Chamomile, hibiscus and lemon peel and created in collaboration with AZ Local Infusion Coffee and Tea.
