None of the Crowds and All the Gifts! Sleep in this Black Friday with Phoenix’s Alternate Black Friday

Every year, after Thanksgiving feasts are eaten, consumers get ready for one of the biggest shopping events of the season: Black Friday. The yearly post-holiday shopping day draws in large crowds, but it always seems to come earlier and earlier, with many deals at big-name chains beginning as early as Thanksgiving day itself. If the deals don’t start that night, then they start early Friday morning, often resulting in long lines and massive groups of people that are a pain to deal with.

Fortunately, if you live in the Valley, there’s a better way. The Alternative Black Friday taking place at CityScape in Downtown Phoenix is returning this year to help you check holiday shopping off your list while keeping your sanity.

Sleep in and Support Local Business

How does getting to sleep in the day after Thanksgiving sound? Probably pretty good – and if you attend Alternative Black Friday, you can. The event starts at 10 a.m., giving you plenty of time to get your beauty rest instead of setting your alarm for the crack of dawn to beat the crowds.

One of the best things about the event is that it gives you a chance to support local Phoenix businesses. There’s no better way to get unique and one-of-a-kind gifts for everyone on your list than by shopping local vintage and handmade vendors. There will be more than 30 local vendors selling everything from clothing to furniture. The first 100 guests will receive a souvenir tote to shop with.

More than Just Shopping

Apart from a relaxing shopping experience that goes against the typical, more hectic Black Friday atmosphere, there will also be plenty of other things to enjoy over at CityScape. During the shopping event, there will be scenic photo backdrops, perfect for that last minute holiday card. Live music and festive drinks will be available for purchase. Of course, there are tons of restaurant options in the surrounding area for you to grab a meal at.

The CityScape ice rink will also be open to use and enjoy during this event, with a display of professional figure skating routines at 5:30 p.m. Stick around until 6 p.m. so that you can be a part of the official tree lighting ceremony, hosted by Phoenix Mayor Thelda Williams!

Overall, the event is the perfect kick-off to the holiday season. Get some stress-free shopping done while enjoying all of the festivities that downtown Phoenix has to offer.
