Pusha T and IDK at The Van Buren
Pusha T is touring behind “It’s Almost Dry,” his first LP to debut at number one on the Billboard 200, released this spring on Kanye West’s GOOD Music label. The critically acclaimed record’s a gritty, sparse collection of gritty tracks that emphasize his skillful rhymes and storytelling abilities, as evidenced on singles like “Scrape It Off” and “Diet Coke.” The It’s Almost Dry Tour has been praised for its no-nonsense stagecraft and Pusha T’s energetic and menacing presence as a performer, making this a must-see show for any Phoenix area hip-hop heads. $37; 7 p.m.; 401 W Van Buren St Phoenix, AZ; thevanburenphx.com // @thevanburenphx

The War on Drugs and Adam Miller & Inner Magic at The Van Buren
Bridging the gap between rootsy classic rock and blissed-out psychedelia, The War on Drugs have become one of the biggest and most reliable touring acts in rock music. Their latest record, 2021’s I Don’t Live Here Anymore, further refines their cosmic Americana to something undeniable, an accessible yet idiosyncratic album destined to soundtrack a million late night, nostalgic drives. It goes without saying a band like The War on Drugs delivers live, stretching out their already lengthy songs to reach sublime levels of vibery. $39.50; 7 p.m.; 401 W Van Buren St Phoenix, AZ; thevanburenphx.com // @thevanburenphx

Lil Nas X at Arizona Financial Theatre
Back in 2019, most people were ready to write Lil Nas X off as a one-hit wonder, a meme-savvy quirk in the system rather than a bonafide star. He’s since transcended pigeonholing as the guy who did “Old Town Road” and developed into a legitimate pop star, with a string of successful followup singles like “MONTERO (Call Me By Your Name)” and the unavoidable, Jack Harlow featuring ear worm “INDUSTRY BABY.” Unsurprisingly, a Lil Nas X concert is an over-the-top multimedia experience, full of costume changes and impressive transitions, which has ensured sold out dates all over the world. $29.95 -$54.95; 8 p.m.; 400 West Washington Street Phoenix, AZ; livenation.com // @arizonafinancialtheatre

Jimmy Eat World, The Maine, Thursday, and PVRIS at Arizona Financial Theatre
This absolutely stacked evening that is both a Warped Tour alumni reunion AND a fascinating examination of the many permutations of the word “emo” is co-headlined by a pair of bands who got their start in Phoenix. This one-off show featuring Mesa natives Jimmy Eat World and Tempe’s The Maine, recently added a special guest appearance from screamo legends Thursday and an opening spot from synth-heavy pop punkers PVRIS. Enjoy a quick tour through the last 30 years or so of a certain strain of underground rock music at this very special event. $49-$79; 7 p.m.; 400 West Washington Street Phoenix, AZ; livenation.com // @arizonafinancialtheatre
